Once considered the Lower West Side, the triangle just south of Canal Street, experienced the cultural explosion of its neighbor SoHo and aptly decided that TriBeCa was a more fitting name, and it worked. By the late 1990s, Tribeca became known for its hip and cool scene, as a well as its ever-expanding commercial market.
Residents of the area know how to live well. They take advantage of the unique contrasts of pleasure that TriBeCa offers – that is, a place equally balanced between secure and not overly established; one that maintains its subtleness but incredibly high valued in price; most importantly, all feel that it is worth it and some even see that TriBeCa is positioned for more growth in the years to come.
